Why is it that teenagers shy away from their Social Media? Coming from today's generation I feel like more teenager's are shying away from the fact that they have social media for a few reasons. Today we are allowed to log on twitter to like and retweet what ever we see with each action affecting our image positively and/or negatively and in the end we build a profile that displays very accurately who we are as people. With teenagers and other young adults becoming more and more indulged in today's declining society as far as media we find ourselves building what might be seen in other people's eyes as a sour reputation to those who strongly detest who we are and what we like. Today's generation is all about fitting in and in order to establish acceptance from different social groups we have to learn to blend in; our social media destroys these chances. In my own opinion I feel uncomfortable showing away my social media to a large group of people not because I post negligent things, but because I don't want everyone to know everything about me without me telling them. By looking at my Profiles you can tell How I feel about current events, who I think is right or wrong and what political views I'm for and these are all the things I'm not ready to share with my peers because the moment you have a different view on something, You lose more than followers, and then people begin to dislike you for who you are. social media isn't exactly hated by Teens, its just that most of us are ashamed to admit we have it.

  1. This was great to read because I know plenty of teens that do not have social media for that very reason. Many people my age believe that if they post or share something that it could have negative consequences which then in turn give them a bad name. I do believe that is a huge reason teens do not give their social medias to adults because they feel it would have some negative consequences.
